International Conference “Re-framing the Migrant Situation in Europe. Critical Issues in Policy-Making and Cross-disciplinary Approaches”

The Teaching Staff of the Department Dr. Nikos Kourachanis and Dr. Dimitris Parsanoglou, participate in the International Conference "Re-framing the Migrant Situation in Europe, Critical Issues in Policy-Making and Cross-disciplinary Approaches" to be held on 28 February and 1 March 2019 at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese.

The Conference aims to contribute to the examination and promotion of viable solutions for the inclusion of migrants and refugees in European societies. With the participation of academics, activists and institutional representatives, the conference will discuss the reasons for the inefficiency of existing responses to the migrant issue, focusing on challenges of the receiving societies and the ways in which these challenges intersect with the growing number of incoming populations. Through discussions, lectures and participatory activities, the conference will highlight different but interconnected aspects, that need to be taken into consideration in strategic planning and decision-making processes, as well as in the implementation of good practices, since they affect people’s lives and the progress of communities.
