Maria Symeonaki

Professor

Maria Symeonaki is an Associate Professor of Social Statistics at the Department of Social Policy, Panteion University. She has studied Mathematics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In 1998 she completed her postgraduate studies leading to a Doctorate’s Degree in the field of Statistics and Operations Research. She has participated in a number of scientific and developmental projects and has been the national scientific coordinator of the Horizon2020 - NEGOTIATE project. She is currently the national scientific coordinator of the European programs Erasmus plus - EUROGRADUATE and Horizon2020 - DigiGen and "HARMONIA" and "COVID-19 and reconciliation of working and family life". Her scientific interests and published work concern mainly the study of Markov systems and their dynamic evolution in time, with applications to labour market transitions and migration.
