Family and family policy

Family and Family Policy

In this course the aim is to acquaint students with the most fundamental theories of family and kinship as well as with the various ways in which family and kinship are perceived and shaped (dominant perceptions, structure, functions, gender and intergenerational relationships) in different historical periods and in different societies. We also examine the diverse family policies in developed countries (capitalist and socialist), focusing on family policies in Greece (constitution, legislation, financial measures, services, parental leaves and time facilities).
