Lifelong Education

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the conceptual framework of lifelong education / adult education and to the reasons for the promotion of lifelong learning during the last decades. The course aims to analyse the factors shaping lifelong learning at international and European level and to approach the basic models of lifelong learning in Europe (with emphasis in the policies for adult education in Greece). The course also aims to introduce students to the theoretical approaches within the field of Adult Education, adults’ learning and the teaching of adults, the training of adult educators, open and distance education, and the methodology of planning adult education programmes.
