Vassilios Koulouris

PhD Candidate

Vasilis Koulouris is a PhD candidate since June 2020 and his thesis "The evolution of the Greek social security system in the era of the 4th industrial revolution: perspectives and adjustments" is under the supervision of Prof. Mr. Dionysis Gravaris.

He graduated from the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) (1989) and the National School of Public Administration (1995). In 2018, he followed the postgraduate course of the department of Social Policy in Panteion University, obtaining his MA in 2020. 

He has long experience in the field of social security, having studied, drafted and proposed legislation, especially during the period of financial adjustment programs (2010-2018).

He has been chairman and member of scientific committees for the reform of the social security system, has represented the country in negotiations for bilateral agreements and has published studies on the Social Security system.

His research interest focuses on issues related to the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution (eg artificial intelligence, robotics, etc.) and the consequent changes in the economy and labor (eg online platforms for the sale of goods and services) for the evolution of the Social Security System.
