Population shifts, labour market and social security

The course aims at introducing students on the study of the impact of demographic changes (mainly those referring to the size, the growth and the age structure of the population) on the labour market and the social security schemes. The course implies the knowledge of the relationships between population changes, participation rates and labour force trends, as well as the role of demographic ageing on the sustainability of pension systems.
